Biocontrol of Macrophomina phaseolina Using Bacillus amyloliquefaciens Strains in Cowpea (Vigna unguiculata L.)

چکیده
The fungus Macrophomina phaseolina is the causal agent of charcoal rot in many crops, such as strawberries and beans. Symptoms include stem root chlorotic foliage. This disease’s management complicated because pathogen forms resistant microsclerotia. work aimed to obtain bacterial isolates for biocontrol M. arid regions. Two strains that grew well under low pH high salinity, named BsA3MX BsC11MX, were isolated identified B. amyloliquefaciens, based on their morphology analysis 16S ribosomal RNA. Both inhibited up 66.8% vitro through combined action volatile diffusible compounds. Furthermore, they produce siderophores indole-3-acetic acid (IAA), have ACC-deaminase activity, solubilize phosphate zinc, decrease microsclerotia germination. Moreover, greenhouse assays using cowpea plants (Vigna unguiculata L.), strain reduced lesions caused by induced a significant increase foliage biomass. Overall, these results suggest amyloliquefaciens BsC11MX can be used biological control agents against zones.

Recent advances in cowpea [Vigna unguiculata (L
After decades of research on cowpea, significant amount of omics datasets are available and useful in understanding the genetic relationship between Vigna unguiculata ssp. unguiculata and other species belonging to the same genus as well as its genetic variation. Besides, the development of genetic map allowed the chromosome localization of molecular markers associated with disease resistance, ...

متن کاملToxic effects of Pb2+ on growth of cowpea (Vigna unguiculata).
A concentration as low as 1 microM lead (Pb) is highly toxic to plants, but previous studies have typically related plant growth to the total amount of Pb added to a solution. In the present experiment, the relative fresh mass of cowpea (Vigna unguiculata) was reduced by 10% at a Pb2+ activity of 0.2 microM for the shoots and at a Pb2+ activity of 0.06 microM for the roots. The primary site of ...
متن کاملAssessment of genetic diversity in cowpea ( Vigna unguiculata )
Sixty six genotypes of cowpea (Vigna unguiculata (L.) Walp) were investigated to understand the extent of genetic diversity through twelve quantitative traits. Mahalanobis’s D analysis established the presence of wide genetic diversity among these genotypes by the formation of 23 clusters. Cluster I had the maximum number of genotypes i.e 22 and cluster 23 had only one genotype. Intra cluster d...

Genetic analysis of 12 lod conditioning morphological characteristics indicated several linkages in cowpea Vigna unguiculata (L.) Walp). Using both backcross and F2 joint segregation data, these 12 lod were assigned to five linkage groups. The lod Pgfor nodal pigmentation, Pf for purple flower, Pc for smooth seed coat, Na for narrow eye, and Br for brown seed coat make up linkage group 1 with t...
